| WATCH Participant. Cindy received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Mercy College in New York in 2000. She has worked for Pediatric Therapy Associates since 2003. Previously Cindy worked for the Wilson County School System as well as in a couple of rehabilitation practices, one of which was based in the child?s natural environment. She treated patients with a variety of diagnoses, including orthopedic issues and neurological, psychological and/or behavioral disorders. Her work at PTA has been similarly extensive, and is heavily based in sensory integration dysfunction. Cindy's continuing education experiences have been equally extensive, as she is a Balametrics Practitioner, an Infant, Toddler and Family Specialist, and is certified in Therapeutic Listening. Other continuing education experiences cover everything from weight training and Crisis Intervention Training, to the Handwriting Without Tears program. Cindy's parrot Sysco and aquarium with various aquatic life also join her during therapy sessions. |

Her work experience has been exclusive to pediatrics in both private and school based settings; however, she also has clinical experience in psychologically based centers, nursing homes, and rehabilitation hospitals. Her therapy techniques utilize a sensory integrative approach during treatment sessions for sensory, developmental, and fine motor treatment strategies. Her continuing education includes multiple courses on sensory integration techniques and strategies as well as handwriting evaluation and remediation. Previously, Marianne worked for a school system in special education serving students diagnosed with learning disabilities, as well as with students labeled as severely and profoundly handicapped. She also worked for Child Developmental Services in Maine at an inclusionary preschool treating children with developmental delays. In Maine, Marianne worked for nine years at a day treatment facility run by Goodwill Industries for individuals with traumatic brain injury. | Preemies & Associates (PAA) is an early intervention agency specializing in supporting the unique needs of infants and toddlers born prematurely, small for gestational age, medically fragile or with genetic conditions such as Down Syndrome. PAA's CBRS staff are experts in addressing self-regulation, feeding and sleep concerns; as well as strategies for supporting language, motor, cognitive and social development of all infants and toddlers.
