COMMON USES:
Used to treat some strains of influenza A in patients 1 year and older who have had symptoms for fewer than 2 days.
Used to treat some movement disorders like choreoathetosis and ataxia.

HOW IT'S SUPPLIED:
100-milligram capsule
50 milligram per 5-milliliter syrup or solution.

HOW IT WORKS:
This antiviral medication interferes with the production of influenza A virus inside your body, shortening the length of time you have flu symptoms.

THINGS TO DISCUSS WITH YOUR DOCTOR:
* Use with caution in children who have liver disease, kidney disease, low blood pressure, congestive heart failure and/or swelling of the feet and/or hands.
* May increase risk of seizure activity, agitation and hallucinations.
* May cause upset stomach, blurred vision, jitteriness, dizziness, lightheadedness, and/or trouble falling asleep.
* Syrup is raspberry flavored.
* Take with food or milk to avoid upset stomach.
* Stopping the medication suddenly may cause fever, high blood pressure, and severe muscle tightness and tremors (called neuroleptic malignant syndrome).
