HOW IT WORKS: A benzodiazepine, this medicine strengthens the ability of GABA (a brain chemical) to make brain cells less likely to produce seizures.
THINGS TO DISCUSS WITH YOUR DOCTOR: ? Side effects include sleepiness, dizziness, confusion, or decreased balance. ? May also cause memory problems, difficulty sleeping, headache, depression, slurred speech, nervousness, irritability, skin rash, vision changes, tremors, and more. ? Using herbs like valerian, St John's wort, kava kava, gotu kola can make drowsiness worse. ? Don?t use if a child has narrow-angle glaucoma. ? Use with caution in children who have liver or kidney disease, breathing difficulties. ? Stopping this medicine suddenly may cause signs of withdrawal.
