HOW IT WORKS Works as an antihistamine to relieve allergic symptoms. Also stimulates the brain's appetite center (located in the hypothalamus) by altering the effects of a neurotransmitter (brain chemical) called serotonin.
THINGS TO DISCUSS WITH YOUR DOCTOR * Like all antihistamines, this medicine can cause drowsiness, but can also cause hyperactivity in young children. * This drug should not be used in newborns or premature infants. * Can worsen symptoms in people with asthma, thyroid disease, glaucoma, heart problems, and high blood pressure.
