HOW SUPPLIED: 200 and 300 milligram capsules. 100 milligram chewable tablets. 100, 200, 400 milligram Extended release tablets. 200, 300 milligram Extended release capsules. 100 mg/5 ml (450 ml) Liquid Suspension.
COMMON USES: Most often used to prevent and/or treat seizures (partial types). Also may be used to relieve nerve pain.
THINGS TO DISCUSS WITH YOUR DOCTOR: * May cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision * Use carefully if your child has liver, kidney or heart problems. * While regular capsules can be opened and the beads sprinkled over a small amount of food, don?t break, crush or chew the extended release capsules. * Shake the bottle of elixir well before each use. * Taking with meals may prevent stomach upset. * Don?t give the liquid suspension at the same time as other liquid medicines. * May interact with other medicines such as Elavil?, Risperdal?, and other anti-seizure medicines. * Blood levels of the medicine, platelets, liver enzymes and white blood cells should be checked regularly.
