Attendees at the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting in San Antonio Texas learned more about TelAbility's Allied Health Training Program from a poster presentation led by Darlene Sekerak, PT, PhD. The poster described initial findings from the TelAbility Training-Allied Health Certification program for occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech language pathologists. The program prepares students from these disciplines to provide services for children with special needs and their families in rural communities by using telehealth technologies. The project is a collaborative effort among the UNC-CH School of Medicine and Developmental Evaluation Centers in Boone, Fayetteville, and Cullowhee. For more information about this program, contact Dr. Sekerak at darlene_sekerak@med.unc.edu or go to the program's website at http://www.unc.edu/courses/ahsc215/
