Last week in a speech given at SAS Institute in Cary, NC, Joe Freddoso, President and CEO of MCNC and the NCREN (North Carolina Research and Education Network) discussed the many ways to leverage the network "to do something tremendous".
In addition to to citing Oliver Smithies' genome research and Appalachian State's remote Master's Degree program, Mr Freddoso highlighted the work of TelAbility which has "created a community for...children with physical and cognitive disabilities"..."utilizing the network and collaborative tools".
We'd like to thank Mr Freddoso for his kind remarks (which can be found at 17:00 of the video linked below) and thank all the good people at MCNC and NCREN who have committed to ensure the connectivity of our online community.
