Tom Cox, manager of University of North Carolina Center for Instructional Technology Video Services, recently presented TelAbility with about $2,000 worth of videoconferencing equipment. In explaining the grant Tom said that, " TelAbility has what I'm looking for: A real life need for teleconferencing. Not imagined or "wouldn't it be nice if we could...", but a need that exists right NOW! I gave a 'grant' of equipment to TelAbility so that I can gather information about how H.323 or "video over ip" works in a real-life situation over time."
We are delighted at the opportunity to continue, and expand, our on-going collaboration with CIT and are especially proud to have been singled out for special recognition by CIT Video Services as they have a great deal of experience (they've been in the teleconferencing business since 1983), and according to Tom "...are experts in a variety of technologies: H.323, ISDN, satellite downlinks, uplinks, microwave, MPEG, and more and know more than just about anyone else in the state about how to set up and conduct an efficient teleconference.
