Dr. Joshua Alexander was recently elected to the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics' Section on Children with Disabilities. He is expected to bring a unique perspective to the Committee as he is Board Certified in both Pediatrics and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Alexander is currently Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine where he directs interdiscilplinary clinics for children with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, brain injury, feeding disorders, and other developmental disabilities. He aso heads a transitional care service for children with acquired disabilities admitted to University of North Carolina Hospitals. He most recently helped craft North Carolina's SCHIP plan for children with special needs. Dr. Alexander acknowledges particular interests in disabilities, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, spasticity management, community education, and telemedicine applications for children with special needs.
