| This local Family Support Network Parent to Parent program can provide a one-on-one parent match with a trained support parent for emotional support, assistance in finding community resources, and sharing parenting experiences. Support for families with children in the Neonatal Intensive Care unit (NICU) at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. The program co-sponsors monthly support groups for families with children with mental illness/behavioral and emotional problems and families with children with hearing impairments. Parent workshops montly on issues like inclusion, caring for children with special needs, stresses of parenthood, etc. (Counties Served: Cumberland -Serves Cumberland County but will accept calls from anyone in the regional area and attempt to assist.) |
