HOW IT'S SUPPLIED:
One-half milliliter intranasal dose

HOW IT WORKS:
This live virus intranasal vaccine helps prevent disease caused by influenza A and B viruses. It contains 3 weakened viruses which, after entering the body, cause the body to develop an immune response against these viruses that helps protect the body against the flu for the rest of the year.

THINGS TO DISCUSS WITH YOUR DOCTOR:
* Intranasal influenza vaccine should only be used in children and adults between the ages of 5 and 49.

* Side effects include runny nose, various cold-like symptoms, such as headache, cough, sore throat, tiredness/weakness, irritability, and muscle aches.
* Should not be used in anyone with an allergy to any part of the vaccine, including eggs; in children and adolescents receiving aspirin therapy; in people who have a history of Guillain-Barre syndrome; and in people with known or suspected immune system problems.
* Should not be used in someone with a history of asthma or reactive airway disease.
* Should not be used in someone with kidney disease.
* Avoid coming into contact with others who have immune deficiency for the first 3 weeks after receiving the vaccine.
